Nikola: Many people think of SEO and Email as two totally different worlds. How do you see it?

Nemanja: They’re not separate at all. SEO brings in qualified traffic—people who are already searching for a solution to their problem. But if you let them leave your site without capturing them, you’re leaving money on the table. That’s where email marketing comes in.

The real value of SEO isn’t just ranking on Google—it’s building a pipeline of potential customers that you can nurture through email sequences and convert into buyers.


Nikola: So, SEO as acquisition, and email as monetization?

Nemanja: Exactly. Let’s say we’re doing SEO for a beauty e-commerce brand. People land on a blog post like “How to Remove Dark Spots from Skin.” If they just read and leave, SEO has done only half the job. But if we add a lead magnet like “Free Guide – 5 Natural Ways to Get Glowing Skin” and pair it with an email series that educates, shows results, and introduces the product, then SEO and email are working together at full capacity.


Nikola: What are the biggest mistakes brands make with SEO and email?

Nemanja:

SEO mistake: publishing blog posts just for the sake of content, without keyword research or understanding user intent. They end up with traffic, but little relevance.

Email mistake: reducing everything to discount campaigns. That burns trust and kills the value of the list.

The winning formula is education + value + then the offer. If someone gets three helpful emails solving their real problems, the fourth with a product pitch has much higher chances to convert.


Nikola: Can you describe an ideal SEO + Email integrated campaign?

Nemanja: Sure, here’s an example:

  1. SEO Blog Post: “10 Tips for Better Sleep” – optimized for a high-volume keyword.
  2. Lead Magnet: “7-Day Sleep Checklist” – offered in exchange for an email.
  3. Email Series (5 parts):
  • Educational: why sleep affects immunity
  • Storytelling: a customer who overcame insomnia
  • Soft offer: free consultation or trial product
  • Social proof: reviews and testimonials
  • Direct CTA: buy the product

This setup generates continuous organic traffic, while the email sequence works on conversions and long-term monetization.


Nikola: What tools do you rely on the most?

Nemanja: For SEO, Ahrefs and SurferSEO—they help us understand what people are searching for and how competitors rank. For email, in e-commerce, we mainly use Klaviyo because of its data-driven segmentation and automation. For B2B, we often use HubSpot or ActiveCampaign. The key is making sure these tools “talk” to each other—so we know which blog post brought a lead and how that lead behaved later in the funnel.


Nikola: If someone is just starting out, would you recommend they invest first in SEO or email?

Nemanja: It depends on the starting point. If the brand already has traffic (from ads or social), I’d build an email system first to monetize it. If there’s no traffic at all, then SEO is the long-term play. Ideally, though, you want both—SEO as the acquisition engine and email as the conversion engine. That’s how you build sustainable growth.


Nikola: Final question—what’s your favorite part of the job?

Nemanja: Honestly, it’s when a client realizes they don’t have to “panic sell” every month with ads anymore, because SEO and automated email flows are running in the background 24/7. That’s the real magic—stability, predictability, and scalable growth.
